
Assen Andonov is a Bulgarian lyrical tenor who was discovered by one of Bulgaria's most prominent vocal pedagogues - Peter Danailov. He began studying under his mentorship specialising in belcanto operatic repertoire, mostly Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini. His original educational background lies in the field of Linguistic Sciences and Language Pedagogy.
For a very short time, he attracted the attention of prominent vocal pedagogues and teachers and received trainings from world renowned singers and operatic masters such as Leone Magiera, Svetla Vassileva, prof. Nicoletta Conti, prof. Guenko Guechev, Margreet Honig, Marcel Reijans, Luis Ledesma and Danielle Orlando to name a few.
Currently, the young tenor continues his development under the mentorship of Peter Danailov.
In 2023, he made his debut as Don Ottavio in Mozart's famous opera Don Giovanni in the theater of Deventer, the Netherlands.
Currently, he is preparing for his next role with the Bulgarian Youth Opera Theatre for the role of Alfredo in La Traviata (Verdi) and Rodolfo in La bohème (Puccini).
